The only solution I could come up with was to completely reinstall DNN from scratch on the server.  Once I did that, everything worked correctly.  Something was screwed up but I have no idea what it was. It certainly wasn't the server itself or a reinstall would have had no effect.  Let's consider this issue closed.

 Just to let you know, I was able to reproduce this error on our development server.

I upgraded the site from 5.1.4 to 5.2 and I am still able to reproduce this error.

I thought it may be the skin we produced - But it is not as it is also showing the issue with Enthropy skin.

However Basic Text works fine. this is only happening to Rich Text 

So I carried on experimenting as I dont seem to be able to see anyone else with this issue.

My thought is that the new Versioning only works with Simple text editor and not Rich text editor.

I am just amazed no one else including my own team has flagged this up. It could well be because it is so late here in UK and I have exhusted myself and dont see something obvious.

I had experienced this issue myself once. I spent a couple of days trying to debug, and I ruled pretty much everything out In the end (environment, skins, third party performance). I never could get the steps to reproduce the issue either.

This was from an old DNN 5.0.1 installation - and I only saw this happen once ever.

I've had, and still have this issue.  So strange, exact same problem as above but I have added a child portal to the same installation and the fck editor works just fine.  I have tried with moving servers and upgrading versions.  We have a huge amount of content so it would take forever to rebuild it all, so here is my question.  Can I uninstall the HTML editor and reinstall it without losing the data in the database?  Thanks!
