SMTP server settings fail when uppgrading from DNN 4.9.5 to DNN 5 ?

WHen pressing the Test button under host>>Settings>>SMTP Server settings then this error shows:

There has been an error trying to send the test email. The error is:
There is a problem with the configuration of your SMTP Server. Mail was not sent.

Even though the SMTP server, user and password settings are proven correct. Basic Authentication is also used. SMTP Enable SSL is false

any clue where to do fault seeking?

Check "anonymous" and update parameters.
Re-check "Basic Authentication", set the login and password and update.

make sure, email address in host settings is a valid address.

Done this many time: make sure, email address in host settings is a valid address

I have rechecked basic and anonymous and restarted applikation but no help ....

Very strange, there seems to be a problem for ASP.Net to reach your SMTP server and login. try to get additional details from SMTP, Windows and DNN event logs.
