default currency is configured in site settings. available items may be edited using Host :: Lists (affecting all portals of your installation for historical reasons).

I am still having no luck display the GBP instead of USD symbol.

1)  I log in as Host
2)  Go top Site Settings - the first icon in the Common tasks panel in the tiop right of the screen.
3)  On the page, I go to Advanced settings, Payment settings, and I have changed the Currency field - the one above the Payment Processor field.

Is this what you meant?

yes. However, currency format might be determined by your UI culture settings (i.e. DNN language).

Which language are you using?

Further down the same page under "Other Settings", I have Default Language = "English (United States)".  There are no other options to select instead of this.

Evan,

in DNN 4, go to Languages in Host menu and click "add language". Select "English (UK)" and save.

Go to Site settings and select "English (United Kingdom)" as default language, same for user profiles.

Go to Languages in Admin menu and disable "English (United States)".

in DNN 5.1+ go to Languages in Admin menu.

At the far bottom (or from module action menu) select "Add new Language".

For Language, select "English (United Kingdom)", for Fallback Language, select "English (United States)" and check "Enabled".

Go to Site settings and select "English (United Kingdom)" as default language, same for user profiles.

Go to Languages in Admin menu and select "English (United States)" in the drop down list.

Click "edit" underneath and on the new page, uncheck "enabled".

PS: Don't ask me, why the procedure became that difficult in DNN 5

Cheers from Germany,
Sebastian Leupold
