 Hi Everyone,

We have changed our development boxes to Windows7 recently. I'm trying to install DNN 4.8 (that's the version we have used in a product we've built) on a fresh Win 7 box. I've use the custom mode (Because when I did typical in Vista earlier no skins were installed by default) and when installing skins and lang packs I get an error. The error is 'Error installing skin : Value can not be null'. The same pack installs perfectly on Vista. Can anyone give me a clue here?

Thanks,

Creed.

Is this during installation or afterwards?  The only difference on Windows 7 is the default app pool identity is no longer Network Service, you need to assign the file/folder permissions for the correct account.

DNN 4.8 does not work in integrated mode of the app pool, for other changes see recent blog post by Cathal on this site.

@Jeff : I have changed the app pool user to be Network Service.

@Sebastian : Thanks! However when I go in 'Auto' install mode everything just works.
