Folks,

I came in here earlier today to see if anyone had reported on the automatic upgrade option through GoDaddy where they do the install through their Hosting Connection (not at the root). I had used their system to install DNN 4.3.5 about two years ago and they never had an automatic update process. There were problems with my site anyhow so I decided to create a new installation (my shared hosting plan gives you two DBs, etc.) work on the new one with 4.9, and then switch over from 4.35.5 to 4.9 when I was ready.

Anyhow, that transition worked last March, but when GoDaddy kept on asking me how they could improve if I called for some other reason, I always told them an automatic update process for DNN. Lo and behold, when I was doing something else on my hosting plan, I saw that they had an automatic upgrade option for DNN. (Does anyone know how long they have had this?) Long story short, since I didn't see anyone complaining that the automatic process didn't work, I crossed my fingers and gave it a shot. Love seeing that update successful messages! Been playing with it all morning and SO far everything seems to be working just fine. I still have more to test and I'll give an update in a week or so....
