 Hi everyone,

I have a DNN installation using v. 5.1.1. It's perfectly working in my local installation when I use port 80. But when I use other ports, I have several issues encountered:

  1. when I access a child portal, it re-directs to the parent portal
  2. when I insert links to pages in the child portal, i have to manually input the child portal name. For instance the only generated link looks like this: http://localhost:90/LinkClick.aspx?link=255&tabid=39&mid=381. Wherein it should be http://localhost:90/childportal/LinkClick.aspx?link=255&tabid=39&mid=381

When we tried to deploy it in production server, i encountered several issues

  1. We tried to use port 80. The site is already publicly available. However, the links in the menu gets the local IP address of the server.
  2. When we tried to use other ports.
    1. The parent portal is properly working. However when I try to edit pages, it looks for the local IP address. Instead of the public URL.
    2. The child portal name in the links of  the child portal were stripped off. Example. the child portal URL is http://www.mywebsite.com/childportal. The link in the menu becomes http://www.mywebsite.com/contactus.aspx instead of http://www.mywebsite.com/childportal/contactus.aspx

In both cases, portal aliases are properly defined and configured. I just don't understand why the URL changes when we try to transfer. It's really weird. Older version of DNN doesn't behave like this.

Anyone who has encountered the same issue and was able to solve it, your help is very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Rubie
