One thing that seems to be missing from this contest is any mention of Internationalization / localization. Yes, I know DNN corp. is in the process of adding more localization support but it still should be included.  Perhaps another category?

Also,  you should require a minimum version of DNN . say 5.1.4?

Robert Many thanks for your post.

The aim is to produce a skinpack that works well on the current 5.2. and if it works for any version before, then that is a bonus.

With regards to Internationalization, please expand a little what you mean. There cannot be any commercial third-party solutions with the skin submissions. however, any tool that is covered by the licensing agreement can be used in the package submission in an appropriate category.

Salar,

Thanks for the reply.  I understand that there can't be any 3rd party commercial components.  But perhaps designers should be able to submit 2 skins (1 that can be distrubuted & 1 for demo to be able to show what is possible.)  Any way, about localization, it should be part of the requirements that the design is easily adapted for other languages.  Things like use of DNN:Text object & resource files or the logo changes based on language selected etc..  I am not a designer but I have spent a lot of time modifying skins to handle these situations.  I suppose you could group this under technical requirements of the contest but I think it is an area that needs to be highlighted.

Thanks Robert

We spent a lot of time deciding on categories and to be honest,  personally, I did not think of Localization whist I think Timo mentioned it. Generally, the "think out of the box" or The "Modern Web standard" Technical one should both cover types of submissions that are more from Developer community rather than the Designer community.

Robert,

IMHO localizability is a criteria of technical quality and should be taken into account, when evaluating submissions by the jury.
