I am working with a DNN 4.5.3 site with Gallery 3.1.12.  The site has blog entries and other links that link directly to the gallery's images.  For example:

http://www.mysite.com/site/Portals/0/Gallery/377/myalbumname/picture1.jpg

If I upgrade to the latest DNN and Gallery module, will this path be preserved, or will all my image links be broken?

Upgrading from Gallery 3.01.12 to Gallery 04.03.00 will not make any changes to the gallery's folder structure so all image links should continue to work.

Note however that Gallery 04.03.00 requires a DNN framework version of at least 04.09.03 so you will first need to upgrade your framework. Gallery has also been tested with success in DNN 5.1.x and 5.2.0.

A few users have reported some timeout and file locking issues (with the _metadata.resources file in each album folder) for sites having a large number of images in the current gallery.

As always, backup both your site's file system and database before proceeding with any upgrade, particularly when upgrading the DNN framework.
