I have a win xp box with IIS 5.1. I did a clean install of VWD express 2005 including ASP.Net Framework 2.0 and SQL Server Express. I then installed the DNN 4.0.3 Starterkit software. I then followed procedure of installing the template on IIS under Inetpub/wwwroot/sitename. I created the SQL database under my username instance of SQL Express and modified web.config file for the database name accordingly. I then did the build of the site which installed successfully. I can browse to the site through VWD by selecting the main default.aspx file, right clicking and opening in browser. When I do this, it opens an instance of localhost with a specific port number (such as ":1146")and takes me to the home page and works fine as long as VWD is running. But I can't browse to it from another computer on my internal network and can't browse to it on the host computer with VWD closed or even without the specified port (ie: http://localhost/dnnwebsite) really. This is important because I want it accessible to my entire internal network. It will eventually go into production on a Win 2003 Server box but I want the flexibility to develop in XP. Any VWD/Starterkit gurus out there who can set me straight?
