Hi!

I'm new here... Just wondering if anyone have this happening to them while editing content in the FCK Editor. BTW, I am using DNN 5.

My apostrophes are displaying as Question marks in view mode and viewed as a regular User.

Sometimes hyphens are displayed as Question marks as well.

I normally go into the FCK editor and insert them as special characters in WSYWYG mode but viewed source, they're displayed as normal characters. I actually need to enter in the special character code in Code view.

When I finally view them in View mode, they display fine. But everytime, I go back to edit that content in FCK editor, The WYSWYG reverts the special characters back to normal characters (that display fine in the editor), but in view mode, they render back to question marks again.

I guess to avoid this is to never go back to the FCK editor after content and all special characters have been inserted. Could someone please help?

If you running DNN 5.2.0 this is a bug that has been identified in the caching mechanisms. It should be resolved with the DNN 5.2.1 release

thank you chris for answering my post. I was really ready to give up. I thought it was my skin causing this problem.

Is this just a simple update to my DNN server?

It should be when the release becomes available. Check out my blog post about upgrading DNN before you attempt it though.

You can also try to turn off caching on your site for now, that may resolve the ? issues

hi chris,

is this cache setting in the page, admin, or host settings? I can't seem to find the switch to turn it off?
