Unfortunately it is in the module settings for each module.

Hi Chris.

thanks for your suggestions. I actually tried turning off the cache on the module settings and still getting this issue. Just wondering if there is any other way around this? It's interesting that this is a bug and it doesn't seem to be a huge issue based on googling this problem. Not many people probably use apostrophes in their content?

thanks!

hi everyone!

just putting a word out there to watch your apostrophe's when inserting them into the FCK editor. I figured out my issue after.

it wasn't caching nor bug with DNN 5. It just didn't like the apostrophe I was using when pasting content into the FCK editor. I was even putting them through notepad to ensure that it would strip out any formatting from Word or any word processor. Notepad even accepts this apostrophe so keep an eye out for the slanty one because DNN does not like this when pasted in the FCK editor! Apparently, there are two types of apostrophes out there: there is the regular character used, i.e., the one you would see when you enter it in Notepad or a generic text editor. And the other with a harder slant, sometimes rendering with a heavier curl. KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR THIS ONE!

I hope posting this will end up on the search results when another victim falls to this. I had a hard time as a newbie figuring this one out.

Thanks for all your help guys!

Actually it goes a bit deeper than just apostrophes - it also happens to hyphens. But if any content is pasted from Word (a big no) and then you go in and change all of the Word formatted double-quotes, single-quotes, etc., they too continue coming back! After reading this post I was hoping the fix would be in the 5.02.02 release but it isn't (unless they just forgot to put it in the Release Notes)....does anyone know for sure if the fix in this release? http://dotnetnuke.codeplex.com/releases/view/39104#DownloadId=102167

Issue resolved - I thought I was running 5.02.02 but I was still at 5.01 so the latest upgrade ineed fixed it.
