I have a price list page that has a very detailed pricing.  There are approximately 7 different major Categories each containing  10 or so pricing options.

I currently have the prices displayed on the page using html.  The prices change about once year so maintenance is not to bad.   I now want to have a master pricing page but also include the the different categories pricing in a module on the page where that categories services are described.  I know I could just create the html for that category on that page but what I am hoping to do is create a table that contains all the pricing then display that on the master pricing page and the display the category pricing on the category pages by doing a select from this table.  This design would greatly reduce maintenance when prices change.

I am pretty sure the UDT module will work for the master pricing table but I am not sure how that would work for the category sub pages.

Or iss there a 3rd party module that would handle this better.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Have a great day!

Larry,

Take a look at SQLGridSelectedView from www.tressleworks.ca  This module has the features I believe you are looking for.  Specifically, you can create dropdown selection lists based on SQL data queries.  The selection of the Dropdown "filters" will then be used to revise the primary select that is used to display the data..  There are other filters available too for date ranges and date list along with text selection.

To see SQLGridSelectedView in action, please look at the examples at www.tressleworks.ca/samples

Thanks Paul - I stumbled across your site myself after I made my post and your module looks like it will do exactly what I am looking for.

thanks again.

For those that may have a similiar problem I ended up using the XMLdb from TressleWorks.  It gave me the SQL select I needed and plenty of control with formating the data using XSLT.  I had never used XSLT before but with about an hour of work I had my initial template and  things up and running including creating a new table to hold the pricing and manually inputting the records.  XMLdb was very simple with good documentation and a few Google searches on XSLT coding gave me what I needed to get me up and running.

Have a great day!

Thanks Larry,

Will be posting a revised version of XMLdb to work with SQLGridSelectedView via IMC -- then you will be able to perform the select with SQLGridSelectView and the display via XMLdb.

Look of it after the holidays

Paul.
