Which databaseOwner / objectQualifier are you using in your web.config file?

I have made NO changes to the web.config file or to my DNN installation for quite a number of the past upgrades.

DatabaseOwner has always been "dbo" and objectQualifier has always been "dnn_" and all of the prior upgrades have gone smoothly without any errors reported by the upgrade process.

It has been ONLY today's upgrade from 5.2.0 to 5.2.1 that resulted in errors reported in the upgrade process and log.

I ran into that same issue last night and have already logged it to Gemini support as issue DNN-11350.

Before reattempting the upgrade you will need to manually modify the file \Providers\DataProviders\SqlDataProvider\05.02.01.SqlDataProvider to add the yellow-highlated tokens:

UPDATE {databaseOwner}{objectQualifier}Lists SET SystemList = 'True' WHERE ListName = 'DataType'

As the upgrade did not complete you should also restore both the filesystem and database from your backups before reattempting the upgrade process.

Hi,

I had the same error as above. I resored files and database made the change and still get the following error.

System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Incorrect syntax near 'Lists'.
at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection)
at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlInternalConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection)
at System.Data.SqlClient.TdsParser.ThrowExceptionAndWarning(TdsParserStateObject stateObj)
at System.Data.SqlClient.TdsParser.Run(RunBehavior runBehavior, SqlCommand cmdHandler, SqlDataReader dataStream, BulkCopySimpleResultSet bulkCopyHandler, TdsParserStateObject stateObj)
at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.RunExecuteNonQueryTds(String methodName, Boolean async)
at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.InternalExecuteNonQuery(DbAsyncResult result, String methodName, Boolean sendToPipe)
at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.ExecuteNonQuery()
at DotNetNuke.Data.SqlDataProvider.ExecuteADOScript(String SQL)
at DotNetNuke.Data.SqlDataProvider.ExecuteScript(String Script, Boolean UseTransactions)

/* Set DataType List to be a SystemList */
/****************************************/

UPDATE dbo.DNN_ Lists SET SystemList = 'True' WHERE ListName = 'DataType'

I copied the setion in yellow {databaseOwner}{objectQualifier} into the file, but it looks like the syntax is incorrect.

my file line looks like

UPDATE {databaseOwner}{objectQualifier} Lists SET SystemList = 'True' WHERE ListName = 'DataType'

Is there more I should have altered?

Thanks

Paul Cameron
