It appears that the link controls used in modules like Links and HTML and a assume all the rest have a limitation that does not allow linking to the current page.

Is this true? If so, why?

My my case I often use a links module to provide navigation to a series of related pages. For example I post a newsletter each month so I have a page for each month. I will use a link module in the left pane to link to each issue in a year.

Archive 2009
- December
- November
- October
- etc...

This links module is on each page as a reference copy so I only have to edit one module to update the links on each page.

My problem is that I cannot add the current page I am on to the list of links. The DNN Link Control does not allow this. I would say this is a bug but it seems that it may have been done on purpose. Is there a way to change this?

My guess is that it is a default functionality that was by design as part of the UrlControl implementation.  (The common link functionality).

As to a workaround, for that one I am not aware of a workaround given your current implementation, but you could switch to using a Text/HTML module instead.

I am using the Text/HTML module as well. Because it seems to be a problem with the Control it should affect any module that is using the control.

Should I submit this as a bug in the control?
