In most cases the connection string used for a hosted site is different from that used on your development environment.

Hello

I have the same problem, database connection string is fine. I've checked my database and found the values the application is looking for are blank in the database. My dbo.Portals table has data but not the PortalAlias Table

Error -

[NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.]
   DotNetNuke.Entities.Portals.PortalSettings.GetPortalSettings(Int32 TabId, PortalAliasInfo objPortalAliasInfo) +101
   DotNetNuke.Entities.Portals.PortalSettings..ctor(Int32 tabId, PortalAliasInfo objPortalAliasInfo) +77

I'm checking the DNN documentation to find out what this should be or if there is a GUI method of updating this information. I don't know whether that's the expected behavior or if the installation wizard failed to complete this process.
