Hi

I am working on a skin for the contest but since I usually use a custom menu for my skins this time I have to use the dnn:nav menu but its not behaving the way I like it here is what I have in my skin

            <dnn:NAV runat="server" ID="dnnNAV" ProviderName="DNNMenuNavigationProvider" CSSNodeSelectedRoot="selected" CSSNodeSelectedSub="selected">
                <CustomAttributes>
                    <dnn:CustomAttribute Name="RenderMode" Value="UnorderedList" />
                </CustomAttributes>
            </dnn:NAV>

I expect this to show the selected tab in the html as class='selected"  unfortunately this is not the case no active item is selected, do i need to do something different for an unordered list based menu?

Another question, is it possible to create a menu with just the host and admin tab?

Thanks in advance for the help

Accepted Answer

The class should be "sel" for a selected item and "bc" for a parent of a selected item.

And AFAIK you cannot use NAV to create an admin and host menu only
(With the addition of the admin and host link in the control panel that seems to be less of an issue)

Oh i have found a jquery solution for the admin and host menu only

here is how i do it

Add 2 divs to the page like this

<div id="AdminMenu"><ul></ul></div>  <div id="HostMenu"><ul></ul></div>

then add the following jquery to the skin

<script>
    jQuery.noConflict();
    // Use jQuery via jQuery(...)
    jQuery(document).ready(function()
    {
        jQuery("#AdminMenu ul").append(jQuery('ul.mid59').children());
        jQuery("#HostMenu ul").append(jQuery('ul.mid7').children());
    });
</script>

Assuming these CSS selectors for the Admin and Host items remain constant, then you should be fine.
