Can anybody help???

After upgrading from 5.2.0 (where I had lots of trouble with caching/unicode chars) to 5.2.1 (upgrade succeeded successfully) I can no longer open any HTML module in Edit Mode. A message appears "Error loading '/Providers/HtmlEditorProviders/Fck/FCKStyles.aspx?tabid=36'.

In the DNN EventLog an exception "Failed to start monitoring changes to 'D:\Webs\...\Portals\0\portal.css'" is logged. The detailed exception tells something about missing permissions ("...because access is denied"). I verified that the AppPool User (dedicated AppPool, dedicated account) has permissions on the entire root including all child folders/files. I also gave the account "Full Access" and verified the permissions on the file "portal.css". Also I checked that the file is not r/o.

The exception occurs in System.Web.DirectoryMonitor.AddFileMonitor method.

Any ideas?

Thx in advance!

Stefan Rosenthal

I got it working again by

- copying the entire DNN 5.2.1 installation files (without web.config and without /install folder) over the existing files

- applying NTFS security settings (Advanced => Replace inherited on childs) again
