I have a DNN V4.9.4 site .. and just started getting this error

An error has occurred.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.PageLoadException: Input string was not in a correct format. ---> System.FormatException: Input string was not in a correct format. at System.Number.StringToNumber(String str, NumberStyles options, NumberBuffer& number, NumberFormatInfo info, Boolean parseDecimal) at System.Number.ParseInt32(String s, NumberStyles style, NumberFormatInfo info) at DotNetNuke.Entities.Users.UserProfile.get_TimeZone() at DotNetNuke.Entities.Users.UserTime.get_ClientToServerTimeZoneFactor() at DotNetNuke.Entities.Users.UserTime.get_CurrentUserTime() at DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.Controls.CurrentDate.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.OnLoad(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

It seems to be an "old" issue corrected many releases ago ... I have checked all the TimeZoneOffset values and they are -300.  I have no problem signing in with Admin or othe accounts ... just Host?

Any suggestions.

Paul.

Problem corrected -- not sure I can say solved.

I was able to sign-in as HOST on another portal on the same instance of DNN.  This indicated the problem was with a specific portal, not with DNN and any related data.

SO I restarted the application from the Host Settings menu.  I was then able to sign into the portal having the issue with the Host account.

So something corrupted the cache ...

Hope this help someone else...
Paul.

As I don't have another portal on this instance of DNN, I am not sure what else I can look for to resolve this issue. I am in the process of upgrading from 4.5.3 toward a goal of 5.2.3. I am currently performing this on a test server to find and resolve issues prior to upgrading the production server. As soon as I upgrade to 4.6.0, this problem appears. I have determined that the issue is specific to 'super user' accounts only. All other accounts - administrative or user - logon and work as expected. All 'super user' accounts report this same error. A clean install of any version of DNN to the test server does not reproduce the problem. Also a clean install of 4.5.3 to the test server and then subsequent upgrades to 5.2.3 does not reproduce the error.

Greg,

Check the timezone offset for the super users. Ensure the value is numeric and contains no additional characters.  If you make any changes,  restart the application and attempt to sign on.

In my case the issue was specific to the timezone.

Hope this helps, Paul.

Paul, I have verified the timezone is set for the super users but continue to receive the error. I have searched on many variations of the error, and checked what each result has suggested, and I still can not find a fix. When I log on as admin, I see three entries in the Event Viewer for the single time I try to logon as host. These entries are identical except for the 'ExceptionGUID' reported. I searched for the files that have 'issuperuser' in them and found quite a few. Not being a programmer though, I don't know what to look for in these files to potentially 'fix' the problem. Do you know if there is any information in the Event Viewer entries that points to a specific file? Any other suggestions you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Greg
