Hi Guys.

One of my sites (www.yourwealthwatch.com.au) contains a forum with over 2000 individual forums making it substantially larger than your normal forum.  This has caused problems with browsers crashing which I understand is probably more to do with the size of the forum more than the forum make up itself.   However, the issue doesn't occur when the forum settings/forum group are set to Aggregate.

The problem with this setup is that users then cannot see the forum groups and forums themselves in order to post in the correct forum.  I have links from A-Z and for each other Forum Group in text/html modules, which are rendered useless when the forum is set in aggregate instead of all groups.  Instead of the links going to a Forum Group, they link to the All Posts aggregated view.

If I could get the links to work while the forum works in aggregated settings, I think  it would significantly speed up my forum performance.

Thanks in advance.

Anyone able to help out with a fix for this?

Being able to speed up a large forum like mine will make a huge difference to my users...unfortunately unless the links to the forums/forum groups work it is not feasible.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Just thought I'd bump this to see if anyone could help in anyway.  Pretty keen to sort the issue but unfortunately I lack the neccessary skills to do so.

David, I am still somewhat confused by exactly what you are attempting to do. Have you attempted to use private forums at all for this?

One final note I forgot to mention, I can honestly say this was never written to accommodate that many forums on a single page. If you try the subforum approach I just suggested and this still doesn't work, the only thing I think that could be done is a major refactoring of how the forums are loaded.
