Trying something else - I made a copy of the home page (the main page where the links do not work) and when you view this page (hidden from menu but viewable by all) - you can now login/logout/register:

http://www.pokerdiy.com/home/homepagecopy.aspx

I'm going to have to roll back to DNN 4.9.5 in the next few hours (my site has been shafted for over 15 hours) - I really wanted to move to DNN 5.x - any suggestions please?!

Not sure if this helps but did you copy the machine key from the backup web.config to the new one? Also if you check your membership provider settings in the web.config file ...

Hope this helps!  I had similiar problem when going from 4 to 5.1, site seemed to work but could not login in.

Good Luck!

Thanks, but that did not help.

One interesting thing to note- the upgrade.pokerdiy.com site is pointing at the EXACT same DB as the www.pokerdiy.com site. But it works fine.

I am now considering just changing the back end to make the upgrade.pokerdiy.com site the live site.

Aloha Rodney,

was this ever resolved? As you know there are numreous of us using your ST modules and any issue you might have come accross for upgrading to 5.2.1 and the resolution to it would be greatly appreciated.

No, I could not fix this this. In the end I pointed my live site at the upgrade files that were working and canned the site that could not log in. I will never know what caused it but it cost me about 10 hours.

So, my advice if you are on a 4.9.x system and want to upgrade:

  1. Backup of course as it will go wrong
  2. Clone your site and try the upgrade. It will probably go fine.
  3. If you are using Mobinuke, turn this off in the web.config
  4. If you are using PageBlaster, turn this off in the WC. There is an updated 5.x config file on their forums to reduce JScript errors when you turn it back on
  5. If you are using Ifinity UM then update your attributes in the WC (there is a post on their site that has a 5.x version)
  6. Go to each vendor for each module and check if there is a 5.x version (for Smart-Thinker there is a script for the Events mod that needs to be run)
  7. DNNStuff Aggregator, ZLDNN Wrapper will cause problems with the 4.x version - so make sure you do these first....
  8. PRAY
  9. TEST

Good luck ;)
