Having first of all installed DNN under a "Virtual directory" and tested it out, I installed and setup a live web site www.saint-joseph.org.uk currently running DNN 5.02.01 on a 2003 server with IIS6 and .Net2.0 and using SQLExpress2005.
The site is live although it's not yet finished.

I installed this DNN site myself and had no trouble setting it up.

I am now trying to set up a new site on a new server which is Server2008 R2 running IIS7, .Net2.0 and SQLExpress2005.
I followed the exact same instructions as I followed for the working installation.
However I am having no success at all in getting this to install.

I have read numerous posts on the subject, all offering varied information, but none of the infromation that I have read and tried has helped me get the DNN 5.02.01 installed.
I did convert the Virtual Directory to an application but still no joy.

When I browse to hppt://localhost I get the standard IIS7 home page.
When I try http://localhost/DNN  I get the error shown below.
I get the same error when I try http://localhost/dnn/install/install....

I hope someone can help me with this.

Regards (frustrated)
Roger Neale

Looks like an ASPNET account permissions issue from "System.Web.AspNetHostingPermission".......

Have you assigned the ASPNET account to the root of your web folder and given it Read & Execute; List Folder contents; and Read permissions?

Have you enabled "Directory Browsing", in IIS, for the site?

Did you install this in 2008 as a web site, virtual directory or an application?

I have assigned the NETWORKSERVICE  user full control of th efolder and sub-folders.
I cannot find a user called ASPNET in the table of users.

Yes

I added it to the default web site as a Virtual Directory and the converted it to an application.  I did this after following advice from some othe postings.

Did you install .Net 3.5.1 under "Features" on Server 2008 R2?
