I am trying to help a charity that had a site created in dotnetnuke by programmers who are no longer available to assist with the final steps now that the content is complete. The site has been in test mode and is ready to go live. The host tells me the site is now operational, however it still points to their index.htm file and I don't know what file to ask them to point to. Is this a simple process or do I need to hire a programmer to complete the project? My experience is in html and graphic design so I am a bit lost. Thanks.

if the web site is setup properly for DNN to run, you only need to make sure:

• full permissions are granted for DNN installation folder and all subfolders to asp,net account
• default.aspx is setup as default document in IIS web site confuguration, as well as it uses .Net 2.0
• both(!) connection strings in web.config meet current database server configuration
• domain address, if changed, is added as portal alias in portalalias table within dnn database.  

I have a question to go live with DNN site.

I built a site in local host. Then code is uploaded to remote host. However, I don't know what to do with database. Should I zip it all and send to host supporters so that they can include the database? If I do like this, I wonder if there is any trouble or not.
