I watched the video tutorial on skinning and at one point the presenter clearly states that DNN strips out all the header code and puts its own code there (which is true because I had javascript calls there that disappeared on the page once I installed the skin)  So how can I include my own code in the header tag?

Thanks for all responses.

Add this server side script to your skin

<script runat="server">
    Private Sub Page_Init(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Init
        'add a script reference for Javascript to the head section
            Dim oLink As New HtmlGenericControl("script")
            oLink.Attributes("language") = "javascript"
            oLink.Attributes("type") = "text/javascript"
            oLink.Attributes("src") = SkinPath & "js/" & "file.js"
            Dim oCSS As Control = Me.Page.FindControl("CSS")
            If Not oCSS is Nothing Then
                oCSS.Controls.AddAt(0, oLink)
            End if

    End Sub
</script>
