I am migrating a site from HTML - in HTML the site has a page with a form for registering into a course.

When you submit the form it is posted to a formmail script which sends a mail to the admin and then redirects to the payment page.

Can someone suggest how I might accomplish the same thing in DNN.

Thanks,

The easiest and quickest way to perform site migrations is to utilize the IFrame Module. This allows you to create a new (or the same) look and feel in DNN with all of DNN's added benefits, yet not have to worry so much about updating old functionality. Typically, anything that can be done quickly is ported over using DNN core modules (i.e. Links and Text/HTML Modules are the most common) and additional features are migrated in time as they reach the top of your prioritized list. With that, I suggest you look into using the IFrame Module to solve your immediate need of migrating this capability. Beyond the initial migration to DNN, you can look into a "glued-together" solution using the Feedback Module and another module that solves your payment needs (I don't know your needs, so can't provide a suggestion) or you can look into a module such as XMod or H2O, which allows you to create custom forms. I haven't used either, so I can't say exactly what they can/can't do, but they might be worth looking into.

Fantastic - thanks for the tip.

I don't suppose someone knows why the IFRAME module won't accept http://localhost or http://127.0.0.1 as this is stopping it from working on my home PC.

Go into the IFrame.ascx file and remove the <asp:RegularExpressionValidator> control. That will fix your problem.

FYI: There will most likely be a post on my blog about a beta release for the module tomorrow. Keep an eye out for that.
