i have a new DNN site that i've built on my server. i'm going to go live with it next week. i've been running it just as the raw site in www/inetpub and it runs pretty slow. it's a brand new server with plenty of power and memory so i'm wondering......

in production....am i supposed to do some kind of compile or something so the site runs only from binary files and hence....faster?

right now....just going from one simple page (no data pulls) to another can take 10 seconds and i've seen it take nearly 20 seconds to bring up the login page

  • What are caching options and performance settings you use (Host settings and module settings)?
  • what are resource utilization stats from the server (windows task manager) ?
  • how long does it take to download data and render the page in browser (use yslow to analyse)?
