I'm wondering if there is a way to exclude certain modules from the main site search indexing routine.  I have things like a quick links footer and other text modules I don't want included, but can't seem to find out how to exclude them from the search.

Any ideas or do all modules get added to the search indexer and you can't take them out?

Bumping this post, as I have the same dilemma. I have an HTML module as my fat footer applied to all pages and it is showing up hundreds of times in the search. I'd rather just exclude it from the search altogether. I figured this would be a checkbox in the settings, but no such luck.

Hi, you'll struggle achieving this with the builtin search engine. We developed our own sometime ago to improve on the default one. Using ours, you can define sections of the page html which the search engine should ignore which is ideal for repetitive sections of pages. Take a look here: http://www.puresystems.co.uk/services/dotnetnuke/dnn-modules/dnn-search-engine-pssitesearch.aspx
