When I use the host functionality to install skins, I have no issues.

When I use the admin functionality, it errors when the skin parsing begins.  This appears to happen with any skin.

Below is the error I am getting:

StartJob Begin Processing of Skin Files
Failure ExceptionSystem.ArgumentException: Argument 'Start' must be greater than zero. at Microsoft.VisualBasic.Strings.Mid(String str, Int32 Start) at DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.SkinFileProcessor.SkinFile..ctor(String SkinRoot, String FileName, XmlDocument SkinAttributes) at DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.SkinFileProcessor.ProcessFile(String FileName, SkinParser ParseOption) at DotNetNuke.Services.Installer.Installers.SkinInstaller.Install()
Info Component installed successfully - Skin
Failure Package Installation aborted
Info Installation Failed - Flex2-H-Bar-DGrad
Info Deleted temporary install folder
EndJob Installation Failed

I'd appreciate any assistance.  Thanks!

I think I've narrowed it down to this line of code in Dotnetnuke.ui.skins SkinFileProcessor.SkinFile:

this.m_SkinRootPath = Globals.ApplicationPath + Strings.Mid(str, Strings.InStr(1, str.ToUpper(), "/PORTALS", CompareMethod.Binary));

I am assuming the InStr function is not finding "/PORTALS" in the path because when setting up the parent portals, I used a different home directory than the default.

What do you think?

The problem was the portal location:  it had to be under the /Portals folder (where _default portal is).  Once I changed that in the database and moved the portal files, I had no problem installing skins in admin.

This seems like a bug to me...Don't you think?
