Hallo,

I've been reasearching the problem for a while now and still not gettting any closer :/ Perhaps can anyone here help me with giving some hints.

So, we have a module on our website where a user can upload a file. It's a standard upload functionality. And of course there's a setting which limits the size of the request, i.e. the size of file that can be uploaded. And it works; however, there's no error message when a user attempts to upload a file that is too large (and exceeds the maximum allowed size). The file IS NOT uploaded (correct), but DNN doesn't throw ANY error. The users gets to see the same page again, as if nothing happened.

This kind of bevaviour is not acceptable from the "user friendliness" point of view. I need to intercept an attempt to download a too large file and show the appropriate message to the user. I need to be able to catch any exception that results by such an attempt.

Any idea how this can be solved?!!

Regards and thanks in advance,

Kris

what do you mean by "It's a standard upload functionality", do you use dotnetnuke urlControl or webupload control?

It's a standard aps.net - element, i.e. "input" with type "file".

I suggest using dotnetnuke webupload control instead, this will take care of registering the uploaded file in the DNN database as well.

Hi, tried webupload control as well, but the problem persists. It also occurs for all the other uploads (including administrative tasks), for example when installing a new module. So it's more a general DNN problem. Tried to tune all the possible settings I know, with no result whatsoever.

More or less, I'm getting quite helpless now :/

Kris
