I am having a problem returning the CreatedByUserId from the UserInfo object (see code below).

The User table row has a CreatedByUserId of 3, but the createdByUserID on the UserInfo object is always -1.

Also...... The get_CreatedByUser always returns a null object.

var thisUserInfo = UserController.GetUserById(PortalId, UserId);
var createdByUserID = thisUserInfo.CreatedByUserID;
var createdByUserInfo = thisUserInfo.get_CreatedByUser(PortalId);

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Before you go to this line

var thisUserInfo = UserController.GetUserById(PortalId, UserId);

can you do add this code:

Response.Write(UserId.ToString());

I just want to know before you get the user object if the user id is already equal to -1

On the other hand if you dynamic load this user control(ascx), you must properly set the module properties, otherwise not only userid is -1, other information like portalid, or tabid will have the same value.
