Version 2.0 of our Robots.txt Generator Module for DotNetNuke has just been released on snowcovered.com:

Did you realize that the terms and privacy text on your own DNN website is more than 99% identical to the terms and privacy text on DotNetNuke.com?  When Google and other search engines see this, they will blame your website, not DotNetNuke.

- Robots.txt is essential for any kind of website to avoid having sensitive and confidential documents indexed by search engines.

There have been many examples of websites that have been embarrassed by allowing confidential documents to be listed in Google's search results.  Don't be the next one.

The Robots.txt module was first posted on snowcovered on 5/25/2007 and is still a popular and now even more useful module.

(*) This module can only help to avoid possible duplicate content penalties caused by DNN's default settings.  It will not help you if you decide to manually copy someone else's content.
