Hi everyone, I would know if someone know if is it possible to add a feature inside the forum administration module ? The reason is that I'm creating a website where people could talk through a forum like this one and exchange picture but, I want that picture appear under a slide show, like this one for each post which have picture. Then, each post which have picture to show will have it's own slideshow. I try to add this functionnality to the open source forum but I am unable to do it. ''Before I know the CMS, I developed a forum that had this feature and it's worked great but, I don't have enought time to finish it.''

Also, the other reason why I want to add this feature is that I want a beautiful forum where picture will always fit with the forum. The user will be able to look every picture for x post just by using the slideshow and not scroll until the end of this x post.

Finally, if someone know how to do it with the CMS, please let me know.

David

I am not sure I would use a forum module for this but to customize the forum module to have a custom slide show gallery for every thread will require a serious amount of work.

Hi Crispy and thank you for reply, in fact I think that the open source forum have already everything what  we need to do it. I explain ; I checked the system table and we have the table dbo.Forum_Attachments which contain the good information for each slide show. The next step is to create a web service with will receive the post ID in parameter and we get all pictures associate with this ID and create all slice required. The final step is to create SlideShowExtender in the code behing and add it to the end of the current post. The way the user can send the pictures stay the same because he will have choose to add it to directly through its text and/or have a slideshow in the end of his post.

I would to do it by myself but I am still studying how the CMS works.

I have download the forums 04.05.03 Source and spotted the exact position where I could add this feature and try to add a single line of code... and no result, the forum stay the same even if I change the div ID (spBody) that contain the text.

To conclude, do you think that is possible to do it without serious amount of work ?

Thank you,

David

Seems like alot of work, create the webservice, host the webservice, splice the images, etc. etc.  Doable but will take a bit of work.
