Hi all,

Here is my new release : an enhanced version of the LinksByCategory module for Dotnetnuke !

The free versions (1.0.0 and 1.1.0) where downloaded 1760 times so far, and many users sent their suggestions and requests ... So here is my response with this version 2.0.0 !

LinksByCategory is a DotNetNuke 3.* module that displays lists of links grouped by subject categories. A Text/Html introductory text can be added to the top of the module. Possibility to leave links not associated to a category; these links are then displayed on top of the lists.

LinksByCategory is available in 2 versions :

  • Version 1.1.0 (Free)
  • Version 2.0.0 ($19 for PA install package - $29 for PA package + source code)

General features :

  • Unlimited categories management
  • Unlimited links in categories
  • Links not assigned to a category are listed on top of the module
  • Text/Html introductory text on top of the module
  • Description for each link can be enabled/disabled (ie. no "..." dots appear if description is empty)
  • DHTML display (show/hide) of link descriptions
  • Settings for background and font colors of categories titles
  • Links can lead to external URLs, internal pages or files
  • Tracking of clicks
  • Links can be exported to or imported from other LinksByCategory module instances
  • Links descriptions can be searched

Version 2.0.0 enhanced features :

  • An image/icon can be associated with each link, with possibility to define it's alignment and alternate text
  • An image/icon can be associated with each category, with possibility to define it's alignment and alternate text
  • Links can be ordered within each category with the use of 'up' and 'down' arrows
  • Categories can be ordered with the use of 'up' and 'down' arrows
  • Show/hide options are separated for tooltips and description links
  • Possibility to display, next to each category, the number of links associated with the category
  • Option to show/hide empty categories in view mode
  • Default category style set to black font and white background

Hello everyone,

I want to thank you for your interest in the LinksByCategory module.

I got some feedback reporting a problem to get the module (both PA and PA+Source versions) from Snowcovered.

It looks that this is solved now ; here a summary of where you can get the module (PA : $19.00 / PA+Source : $29.00) :

Thanks,

Johann Frot
