The events module is one of the most flexible which I've yet used but I was surprised to see that it is missing one very useful feature; workflow.

I did notice that there is a 'moderation' option but preferably the permissions would be more flexible. It isn't currently possible to allow any user to submit an event and for that then require moderation.

Hi Phil,

If you give a user group the rights to edit the module, they should be able to add an event (only for logged on users). If you then enable moderation, these events should then be moderated. This sounds like it means the basic need you describe below.

There is a request to create a more extensive workflow, including creating draft versions, etc. I can't commit as to when this would get implemented into the module through.

Cheers
Roger

Hi Roger, thanks for your response. We were hoping to allow anonymous users to submit an event but disallow editing. I have tried experimenting with the module permissions but it doesn't look like this is possible unfortunately. Hey ho, probably a pretty rare requirement I suppose. We'll figure a way around it!

We've had 2 or 3  requests to provide the abaility for anonymous users to add events. It breaks the model at the moment, since events are logged against the user creating them. I'm not sure what it would take to enable the functionality properly. Certainly in the current model, we wouldn't be able to link the creator to a person loggin back in to ensure only that person could edit the event (the current key is userid, not email address).

You can add your vote to this request on CodePlex - http://dnnevents.codeplex.com/WorkIte...

In our instance, we wouldn't need the event to be linked back to the person at all, though an email address would be useful.
