Hi

I've got Nuke 4.0.3 running locally (Windows XP Pro) with a portal using an SQL 2005 database. I have copied to my web host provider (similar setup), although I am problems copying the stored procedures across (was a lot simpler in SQL Server 2000 enterprise manager!). Note I'm using the Nuke source code install with Visual Studio 2005 standard.

My question is what is the best way to keep the local server code and database in sync with the remote environment. Obviously I am going to be manipulating the code and database locally, whilst the remote installation will be live. Database will be changing in both environments. The local envionment ASP.NET files will change as I alter it. Will any of the code change in the remote installation like temp/XML folders folders? I would guess so.

So what's best practice here?
Any recommendations on how I can keep one in sync with the other, code and database? Maybe there is a util out there, or something built into SQL server management studio/Visual Studio 2005.

Thanks for any feedback

Alex

Any takers or do I need to explain more?

I was thinking about having two nuke sites on the remote server. One for live site, one for test site. Once happy with the test site I point IIS away from the live site towards the test site, which effectively makes that folder the live site. And so the process will repeat itself once again when I next perform a software upgrade. Therefore I wouldn't get much downtime when performing upgrades.

Again do you have any recommendations here?

Thanks

Alex
(maybe if I put a smiley here: I can get somebody to reply :)
