HI All,

This is probably a really dumb question, but I am so new to this that I do not even know what to search for in the forums for an answer.

I have several domains, one hosted with a professional provider with static IP, the others I've been forwarding to my Win 2008 server but I have not been able to figure out how to make www.mysite1.com go to mysite1 app without needing a folder name (alias) after the IP address. If I try setting the alias to nothing when adding a portal, the root IP 192.168.1.2 opens the IIS setup page.

My goal:

  • www.mysite1.com --> forward to my IP xx.xx.xxx.xx  ---> port forwarded to 192.168.1.2 --> opening mysite1 app.
  • www.mysite2.com --> forward to my IP xx.xx.xxx.xx  ---> port forwarded to 192.168.1.3 --> opening mysite2 app.

My best try:    ( I don't want to have to use alias folder after domain name )

  • www.mysite1.com /mysite1alias --> forward to my IP xx.xx.xxx.xx  ---> port forwarded to 192.168.1.2 --> opening mysite1 app.
  • www.mysite2.com /mysite2alias --> forward to my IP xx.xx.xxx.xx  ---> port forwarded to 192.168.1.3 --> opening mysite2 app.

Thanks a million,

Rich
