I have a new install of  DNN version 5.02.03.  I checked the box to install the active directory provider that comes with the install version and once the install completes I get an error stating "This site is currently Unavailable.  The Active Directory Provider requires the site to be running under Full Trust and/or in Classic mode in IIS 7.  I am running full trust and in Classic mode.  The one thing I did see odd was that the version of the AD provider listed under module definitions was version 1.  So, I uninstalled that version and installed the latest version for DNN 5 which I believe was 5.0.1.  I still get the same error message.  Any ideas?

I am running under Server 2008, IIS7, SQL2008.

Forgot to mention, I did set impersonation in the web config.  I also was able to successfully set up AD in the last DNN 4 version on this server with no problems at all.

Impersonation in the web.config doesn't haven anything to do with it at this point. When you setup the site in IIS right beside where you entered the Alias there's the section for the Application pool. By default it's set to Default AppPool and for the provider it needs to be set to Classic .NET AppPool. Now that you've already created the site you should be able to change it by opening the basic settings on the site.

BTW the latest version of the provider is 05.00.02.

Yes, I do understand impersonation should not be needed but saw it as a response in another thread to the same type of problem.  Anyway, I do indeed have it set to classic. I also tried the default asp net classic app pool that gets installed by default and still get the error.

Odd. I don't have a regular 2008 server to test on but I did set up one temporarily to test things out. Have you seen the first post in this thread?
