I'm a DNN newbie as well as a web design novice. Wondering how to incorporate Flash while having a drop down menu that keeps dropping behind the Flash window. View our site at www.americanchurch.com to see what I mean. The large image on the home page was originally intended to be Flash. But when we inserted a Flash movie, we found that the drop down menus in the navigation bar would drop down and disappear behind the Flash window. Can anyone recommend a fix that allows us to place a Flash file and have the navigation menus fall above the Flash animation?

Of course, changing the whole layout and putting the Flash element away from the navigation menus is one solution. But the company wants to keep the current layout. I've tried using an animated GIF instead of Flash, but the file size was too big to load in a timely manner.

Any info is greatly appreciated. Anything technical will go right over my head, but I know a few people who may help me out with a more in-depth solution.

Hi - I just checked out your site and it seems you have the issue fixed? I am seeing the menus over your flash. If not - feel free to email me and I will be happy to help you out.

Thanks,

Noel

Hi

Make sure you use wmode=transparent for flash, if this does not help than you need to set different z-index within your css style for the navigation and the pane with the flash module.

No, we don't have it fixed. We do not have a Flash image on the page, it's a static JPEG image. That image is where we originally intended to use Flash.

Thanks for your reply. Looking forward to any help you can offer.

Jim

Matt is absolutely right - use wmode=transparent and menu that got z-index with higher rank that flash container. If still having problems, try using another menu module
