Hi all

I worked with DNN a couple of years ago but now an trying to create a new website for myself with the new version. I have managed to upload skin and get started on the text I want on the site. But when I go to insert an image it asks me for the URL. Whever I go to browse the server it gives me an error message (that I truly don't understand!) I used DNN a couple of years ago it would automoatically take me to the images in the File Manager. I am unable to work out the URL for my images...is there an easy way to do this? Or how can I access the File Manager from the insert image part?

Sorry for the basic question! I'm completely frustrated and don't know where else to turn.

Margit

The error message is as follows:

Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
    <system.web>
        <customErrors mode="Off"/>
    </system.web>
</configuration>

Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
    <system.web>
        <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/>
    </system.web>
</configuration>

Server Error in '/' Application.

HI Jeff

I didn't understand the instructions...I struggle with the back end stuff. However a friend of mine helped me - we found an old post from 2007 where there was the same issue. It was resolved then as follows: "The issue is resolved. I had to move move the DotNetNuke.FckHtmlEditorProvider.dll from bin/provider to bin. It took a few minutes and then it started working." We did this to my site and it now works.

Thanks for checking.

Margit
