Good day everyone,

I am having a porblem with installing dotnetnuke in my site. i have moved all the dotnetnuke files and folders to a subdirectory of my site but it still does not work. (The connection strings are already configured.)

please look into my website to see what the problem is.

Read your error.  Especially the last line, telling you to look at the event log.

Thank you Jeff for the reply.

I read about the error and it says: 500.19 - Configuration data is invalid.

i just configured the connection strings the way the host provider told me to do so. In fact, the host provider gave me the following connection strings:

"Data Source=tcp:DATABASE SERVER;Initial Catalog=DATABASE NAME;User ID=DATABASE USER;Password=******;Integrated Security=False;"

and told me to follow this tutorail:

https://support.winhost.com/KB/a654/h...

i did exactly what is in this tutorail, but still am getting this error!

(it may seem to you guys my questions are trevial but i am really new to this kind of bussiness. This is the first time to setup an CMS. Sorry guys)

You mentioned that you are installing DotNetNuke into a subdirectory of your site. It appears that you may have another ASP.Net application with it's own web.config file located in the root folder of your site. Is that true?

If not, then it appears that your site's web.config file may have had its structure corrupted when you edited the customErrors node. Instead of adding that line to the web.config, find the line that reads:

<customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" />

and change it to

<customErrors mode="Off" />
