Please help a DNN newbie. I have searched for the answer to this problem but my issue seems slightly different than other login issues that I have read about.

I installed DNN successfully and was able to configure options. Somewhere in the process of playing around with modules, I apparently locked myself out of logging in. I believe it may have something to do with making registration private as I do not want people registering without my approval.

Now, from my main DNN portal, when I click the login link, it just refreshes to the main portal. The address of the link is <website>/Home/tabid/36/Default.aspx. When I look at my folder structure on the webserver, however, I do not see a "Home" folder.

This is not the issue where it tells me that passwords are incorrect... I just never get the login link.

I apologize if this is a common problem that I should've been able to ferret out but at this point I am ready to blow the whole thing off and reinstall. I don't want to do that if possible.

Thanks in advance.

The path you mentioned is using friendly URLs and is not a physical path. The URL of the login link should be .../Home/tabid/36/ctl/Login/Default.aspx from the home page. Note that the login url will change depending on the page you're on. The only constant is that you'll have ctl/Login in the path, if using friendly URLs, and ctl=Login if not.

Either way, this has nothing to do with your login URL. If you're using the DNN Login skin object, the URL should be generated correctly. I'd suggest you start there.

Thanks for the info. I do not have the CTL in the link. I will dig into it.

I was trying to implement HumanFriendly URLs and got logged out... not I can't login because the url is being changed.  Is there a way to get to the login page? Or is there a DB table I can access to add/update the Friendly Url Settings?

A short question:
   does your tag ( ...  <%@ Register TagPrefix="dnn" TagName="LOGIN" Src="~/Admin/Skins/Login.ascx" %> ...) not work - that mean it dosn't display the signin module or
the signin module does show an error (i.e. an exception)

???
