Hi, newbie here

I've got a dnn cms that has been created for our company that is being used for our public website.  Currently it's hosted on the site of the company that built it.

I wish to install a public wiki to live alongside the cms, however the existing hosting won't allow it.  So I need to move it to a new host.

So my question is twofold.  Firstly what's required to migrate dnn from one host to another?

And secondly what are the requirements of the target host.  Does it have to support the same dnn version, or just an appropriate asp version?

Thanks in advance for your help

you should easily be able to install and run DNN WIKI - which has some limitations, but might be sufficient to start with. Otherwise, to move the site, you need to add the new (temporary) domain address to portal aliases in Host::Portals for your site, next backup all files and database and restore on the target server, which needs to be a Microsoft IIS (Windows Hosting) with Microsoft SQL Server 2003 or 2008 (Express or above).you need to adopt both connection strings in web.config to point to the new database server, please read the pinned post in "install" forum for details.

Thanks for the reply Sebastian.

The wiki is to create a public read only mirror of one of our internal wikis, so it will need to be the same type as what we're using.

I'll try your suggestions and see how I go.
