I have learned that AddModuleMessage does not work with ModuleSettingsBase (settings) controls; it works with PortalModuleBase (view) controls.

So, what is the recommended/best-practices way of communicating validation errors to the user and keeping navigation on a settings page? The validation I'm dealing with requires server processing. I could go with a remote-processing-from-the-client approach, but in this case I would prefer to simply do it like the standard post-back-AddModuleMessage manner that is used in PortalModuleBase view controls.

Can anyone point me to some info on how to do validation processing in ModuleSettingsBase controls? Thanks in advance.
