After upgrading to 5.2.3 i now have the bar at the top of the page which displays the "Content" and" Preview" checkboxes normally visible to the administrator but now visible for all users?!  The checkboxes don't seem to do anything but clearly shouldn't be there.  Is this a skining issue or a bug? Has anybody seen this before?

I ran into this once, my post can be found here:

It was caused by a module on the page having all users set to edit.

My guess is it's the same thing.

Thanks for replying John. Unfortunately that didn't work. I have set the Admin->Site Settings->Advanced control panel visible setting to "page editors" and check all the modules and page edit properties to check that nothing has "all users" set to edit, however it is still there! What I neglected to mention in the original posting is that this appears on all of the publically available pages expect the login page ? I am wondering whether the user profiles or security settings might have been affected somehow?

I changed the Control Panel view back to iconbar (Host menu / host settings / iconbar) and hey presto! Not only is the control panel behaving itself but the problem I had with users not being able to change their own passwords seems to have been fixed to!

Incidentally, before making this change, I also tried applying a skin which had the breadcrumb trail switched off and strangely this also removed the control panel?

So not sure why this was happening but now resolved enough for it not to be a problem!
