I want to add two adrotators in the heading pane.  I've not seen any skins that allow any modules in them.  Does any one know if this is possible?

Also, what is the advantage of an html skin vs a .net skin?

Any help would be appreciated.

I do this on PokerDIY - I just have a menu pane at the top and use the SmokeRanch Ad banner - http://www.pokerdiy.com

 David,

An HTML skin be be easier for someone to modify if they are only comfortable with HTML. That way they can easily check their process in a browser. I find that the .ascx method works best for me. I just have a local install of DNN to check it against as I am working on it. This allows me to make quick changes w/ out having to install the skin each time that I want to test it.

Hope that helps a bit.

David,

At the end of the day both are presented in the same way through Dotnetnuke; after you have developed your HTML skin pack with HTML layout, CSS files, images and XML file, the DNN framework parses all the info and creates a .ascx file, which is the .net skin. I develop in HTML because it's what I'm best with and it lets me create a final layout which I can then work backwards into a skin pack. With a valid XHMTL layout it's much easier to create a valid XHTML skin. I think the decision of what to develop is strongly hung on the language you're happiest building in. I don't see any other advantage.

Rick
