hi Rodney and thanks for the script.

I have about 70 dupes   I think I will see when they last logged in and remove the login they did not use ( leaving the one they did last use)..  problem of course if they have not logged in recently  in which case I have decide to remove the one they created first ( on the basis that they forgot the first login and that is why they created a second)

Of course this all goes to hell if it is two people who are using the login but a common email address for responses... ( at least as they can get their login details by putting their email address in !)

so many forget their login name that really the only good way is for them to use their email address.

Still not been brave enough to upgrade to ver 5  but working myself up to it!

THanks again

Rob

My problem is the 2nd you mention - a lot of users are using the same email on purpose but with multiple logins. I don't think this should be the default setting on a shipped DNN instance IMHO - I think it is the exception to the rule that a website allows this... I am going to write a script to rename them all at some point (I cant manually do 964) - and then make the forgotten pw page really easy (link to Contact Us etc) - so if they are one of the people who have a new (incorrect) email they can contact me for help. It's not ideal... I highly recommend people to check this setting and flick it to True as soon as possible to avoid this mess (unless you have a genuinue requirement to allow this)
