I've installed DNN on two test machines with no problem and now I am attempting to get it installed on my webserver.

The server is managed by Plesk and has a user name IWAM_plesk (default) for running the app pool. [ IWAM_plesk (aka - plesk iis web server wp user) ]

During the install I get an "IdentityNotMappedExeception" error executing a "setACL" (access control list) on the folder containing the DNN website for the IWAM_plesk user.

I'm guessing that when creating the folder it is looking at the parent folders owners (IWAM_plesk is one) and copying their permissions on the new DNN install.

IWAM_plesk is not a normal system user however it does exists. If I look in ComputerManagment there it is in all its glory indistinguishable from the other users.

I think this is a bug with the install.

Anyway. How do I get around this?

I figured it out. Plesk creates a user called IWAM_plesk to run the app pool and it is listed in the security access settings for the directories in the domain plesk created. I created an identical user to the IWAM_plesk user with same groups and permissions using the ComputerManagment / Users & Groups interface. I removed IWAM_plesk user from the security settings for the domains directories and added my new IWAM_xxxxx user in it's place and set the new user it to be the manager of the app pool. DNN then installed. I suspect that IWAM_plesk is created through a windows api call the partially creates a new user leaving out some additional records that are looked up by DNN when installing... thus the IdentityNotMappedException.
