My application is made up of several modules, so that they can be independently placed on the page.  Each one requires individual configuration with a parameter, the parameter will have the same value for all the modules on the page.  This manual configuration is somewhat error prone; it is posible to configure two modules on the same page differently.

Is there any established practice in this area?  It seems to me that a parameter configurable at the page level and available to the modules on the page would be a great fit.  If such a thing exists I am not aware of it.  Any other suggestions?

Beginning with DNN 5.02.00, a new TabSettings table was added to the database and the Entities.Tabs.TabController class exposes public instances method for GetTabSettings, UpdateTabSetting, DeleteTabSetting, and DeleteTabSettings. The TabInfo class now exposes a TabSettings hashtable.

As far as I know, there is currently no way to manage TabSettings via the ManageTab UI nor to inject your own TabSettings.ascx control ManageTab.ascx as we can currently do at the module level with a custom settings control.

Thanks Bill,

It's somewhat imperfect, but *way* better than any other ideas I had.  For my purposes I'm OK with managing it from my module settings control, with a message pointing out that the setting is (potentially) shared by all modules on the tab.

I'm OK with taking a DNN 5.02 or above dependency.

It's working fine!  Thanks again.

Interesting, but maybe not useful info.  My virgin install already had some settings in the database table.  When I copy a Tab, the settings my code installed are not copied.  The core code puts some settings in for the new tab.  I really don't care one way or the other (this time).  In fact I marginally prefer it not copying them.
