I had DNN 5.2.2 running successfully as a sub domain of a GoDaddy hosting account but when I added a domain and changed the PortalAlias table to reflect the new domain, I started to get this error when I try to access the site.

DotNetNuke Error
Windows Vista

with a button to "return to site"

Any ideas?

Thanks

did you add virtual directory path as well - afaik GoDaddy does not allow install in root folder.

As far as I can tell I have everything configured correctly and the files are not in the root directory. I even reverted back to try to use the subdomain (that was working) again and now I'm getting the same error that way.

Go Daddy won't support any DNN installs that weren't made through their connection center so I think I'm going to try to install from there.

I had a lot of work invested in that site. Oh well.

I saw this once when, somehow my root portal records were deleted from the Portals, PortalLanguages, PortalDesktopModules, PortalAlias, PortalSettings and PortalLocalization tables.  I have NO idea how it happened, but when it did, I saw the same problem you have described.
