I posted this on Mitch Sellers website under his DNN forums page (http://www.mitchelsellers.com/forums/...) and he solved my problem!!! He said "It sounds if your portal alias was modified during upgrade, you might check the PortalAlias table in the database and see what it has, there shouldn't be a trailing / or other odd characters." I removed a forward slash from the end of the portalalias with the problem in this table (only portal with a forward slash at the end of it), then upgraded on my test system, and it worked!
