My site - www.oilconsolidation.co.uk has a GBP pound sign on the front page.  It only displays as the correct symbol if you are logged in.  When I log out it shows as a quesiton mark.

The site is NOT configured for multiple languages cultures.  In site settings I have English (United Kingdom) as the default, and ONLY, language. Admin | Languages does show both English (United Kingdom) AND English (United States).  Is that the cause of my problem?  I don't know how to remove the English (United States) entry.

Best wishes,

it looks like an encoding issue, make sure to be in Unicode, when saving the text.

Hi Sebastian,

That's an interesting idea.  The text is in an HTML module, entered using the FCK editor.  Do you know how I would make sure it was using Unicode?

Best wishes,

view source of the displayed page in both circumstances and check for a meta tag with encoding details

actually I believe this is an error in an older version (5.2.0?) where html/text did not encode properly for anonymous users due to a caching error. Please upgrade to 5.2.3, I believe this will resolve your issue.
